Web Sites to Promote Reading

Here are a few web sites that should be fun for your child to visit.   They either have a reading theme or will require your child read to participate in the fun.  Enjoy!!!  I have thrown in a few informative sites for Parents as well. The titles of each site are hyperlinked to the site.  Just click on the title to see the sites.

  1. Childrens Playground is a site filled woth puzzles, games and mazes. You can make a e-mail greeting card and much more.  When you go here start by looking at the yellow column on the right of your screen.

  2. Cyber Kids Home At this site you can read all kinds of stories written by kids like you!  You can even write your own stories and send them in to be read by everyone else!  Cyber kids has some fun games to play too.  (I would be very cautious about joining any cyber net club.)

  3. Tongue Twisters have always been fun to learn.  At this site Geocities has listed tons of them. Originally to help people improve their speach, I just think they are FUN!   When you get there look down the page until you see a title you like and click to open it.

  4. Net Mom is a site designed by a parent for anyone who wants to keep kids safe.  You will find all kinds of topics from cooking to countries and etiquette to comics.  I suggest you scroll to the bottom of this site and click on the 100 most popular sites for kids.

  5. Anagrams are when out take the letters from a word or phrase and mix them up to form new sentences.  This is a great way for kids to work with letters and words without getting frustrated they love the challenge when it looks like a game!

  6. Jokes Galore and a whole lot more!  If you like dot to dots. word searches riddles and jokes youll love this site!  Happy days are here.

If you can read this thank a teacher.
